On December 9, 2024, the Qatar-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry is hosting the Second Investment Round Table in Doha, with the
support of the KazService. This event promises to be a key platform for strengthening economic ties between the two countries and creating new opportunities for Kazakhstani businesses.

During the roundtable, representatives of major industrial companies and government organizations from Qatar and Kazakhstan will discuss prospects for cooperation in sectors such as construction, energy, IT,
and the oil and gas industry.
Kazakhstan-Qatar Round Table: New Horizons for Cooperation
Doha, December 9, 2024:
The Kazakhstan-Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, supported by the Association of oil service companies of Kazakhstan (KazService), hosted the Second Investment Round Table in Doha. The event brought together representatives of major industrial companies and government institutions from both countries to discuss prospects for cooperation in energy, construction, IT, and other economic sectors.

In his speech, Rashid Zhakslykov, Chairman of the Presidium of KazService, noted: “Cooperation with Qatar opens up new opportunities for Kazakh companies to implement large-scale projects. We see immense potential for joint efforts that will strengthen the positions of our countries in the global economy.”
During the plenary session, the Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alibek Zhamauov, presented the “125 Years of Kazakh Oil” commemorative medal to Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Qatar, His Excellency Arman Issagaliyev.

3 key documents were signed during the event. A roadmap was signed between Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Zhamauov and His Excellency Mehmet Arif Ozozan, General Manager of UCC Concession, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas. This document aims to establish a legal and organizational framework for implementing energy projects, regulating investments, capacity purchases, and electricity agreements, and creating the structure of a project company in Kazakhstan.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between Aidos Koldassov, General Director of the Kazakhstan-Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Shane Kelly, Director of KENT in Qatar. This memorandum serves as a starting point for active cooperation in industrial and economic engagement between Kazakhstan and Qatar, aimed at mutual development and benefit.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between Tekfen Constructions in Qatar and CHI Qatar within the framework of Qatar Gaz projects.
According to Alibek Zhamauov, Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan: “This year, Kazakh oilfield service companies have already begun working on Qatar’s oil and gas projects, and we hope this cooperation will continue to expand.”
Event Results
More than 30 Kazakh companies from various industries and 30 Qatari companies participated in the round table, bringing the total number of participants to over 100. The event became an essential platform for exchanging experiences and establishing business connections.

Qatar-based Power International Holding acquire the Kazakh telecom operator Mobile Telecom-Service LLP, which includes Tele2 and ALTEL brands.
The agreement between Kazakhtelecom JSC, Samruk-Kazyna JSC, and Power International Holding was signed during the official visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Doha.

General director Mr.Koldassov have met with Chamber of Foreign Trade
Key moments in the relationship include the working visit of H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, to the Republic of Kazakhstan on June 7, 2023. During this visit, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with the Head of State, H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and attended the opening ceremony of the Astana International Forum. This event, along with other high-level meetings, has provided momentum to the entire spectrum of bilateral relations.

A crucial development occurred during the state visit of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Kazakhstan on October 12-13, 2022. Discussions during this visit covered various aspects of Kazakh-Qatari relations, with particular emphasis on trade, economic collaboration, investment, cultural exchange, and humanitarian cooperation. The leaders expressed their mutual desire to strengthen trade and economic relations, exploring opportunities in agriculture, energy, petrochemicals, mining, and finance.
The Qatar-Kazakh Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in 2023 by group of Kazakh and Qatari businessmen to promote economic and investment relations between two countries.
